Who is Steve Blacksmith?

Steve is a jack of all trades. He is a writer, photographer, director, comedian, actor, teacher, podcaster and a great many other things. He’s even pretty good at some of those things.

After a few years of teaching Film Production, Steve turned his attention to still photography. He has had the wonderful privilege of photographing a variety of events, models and public figures. He does not do photography as a business, which allows him more artistic freedom in the art that he creates.

Steve graduated from the University of New Mexico with an MFA in Dramatic Writing. He has had numerous plays produced and a full-length film, Tragedy + Time. He is also a novelist, with his debut novel, Baby Teeth, coming soon to random places throughout the country. As a playwright, Steve doesn’t charge anyone to perform any of his plays. All of his scripts are available online to read for free.

The Classless Chaps are a performing arts group that specialize in improv, sketch, variety shows, and podcasts. They were founded in 2019 - cutting their teeth in the digital theatre days of lockdown before breaking out in the Albuquerque comedy scene.

City College Media

Steve founded City College Media in 2016 with a focus on student films and podcasts. Along with many comedians and actors he met in college, Steve directed numerous short films and sketches - some of which went on to win awards. He then went on to help found The Classless Chaps with many City College alums.
